Chittenden’s Barstow Memorial School was transformed into a hub of community activity as vendors and families turned out for the 3rd annual Chittenden Day Celebration on Saturday. Taking place from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., the event featured music, a food truck, food and craft vendors, sack races, water balloon tosses, a dunk tank, karaoke and fireworks. The day started with the Bobcat Bolt, a 1-mile run for kids, followed by a 5K, sponsored by the Parent Teacher Organization. Four different bands performed over the course of the afternoon as artist Peter Huntoon painted and showcased his works. An old fashioned chicken barbecue, with the Chittenden Fire Department at the grill, rang in the evening, which concluded with fireworks.
